Playing on the Fly

Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Blues Harp,

Wow folks have I been busy after I wrote about playing on the street; I played again with just the base and lead guitar player of the band. We played in thousand oaks real high dollar place and I got paid 50 bucks plus tips I did not mind that one bit!

I saw one thing that I never seen before this big guy drops five in the tip jar and picks it up and way he goes! I was playing my train song almost stopped!
After the song I said ha that guy took the tip jar the other guys said take it easy; Bob he is taking it around for us it came back full.

Frank the base player told me they do that when they like a song; so your train song really got them they liked it and that is how they show how much they like it!

Folks what I'm saying is you never know when your going to be asked to play and it could turn out to be better then you ever thought it could be.

I want talk about playing on the fly and keeping your Harp with you all the the time.
Some of you are thinking I'm not that good then play one slow song and go for what you know! you may have more fun then you think.
You may not be as bad as you think you may be better you will never find out tell you try!

Go out and find your local Blues places and look for Harp players you can go see them and learn how they play Blues Harp.
Open mic is real good place to go and take your Harps maybe you will get up there and play some short riffs.
I go myself and meet guitar players to play with every time I go out.
If you do not have open mic ask around you never know you may get one started!

Bars, coffee houses, pizza places, music stores, churches and anywhere folks get together is good place to get open mic going or jam scission started.

Folks you do not learn by staying home and saying I'm just not good enough there are others you can get together with to support you and cheer you on we all need that now then.Everyone has fun when we just play to have fun!

As I was writing this letter to you all my old guitar playing Bro. calls me up and says I know this is short notice do you want Blow some Harp?
You know what I said YES I sure would! well are you sure I cant payyou much it's Birthday party he said; That's ok Bro.I love to play my Harps for folks I'll be there!

Folks I had blast more fun, good food ,few bucks in my pocket and some more happy times with folks that love to hear good Blues Harp played on the fly.
